We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to launch our new mobile acute care service in Houston. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a new care model within a growing healthcare company. 

Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant will be paired with a Nurse Practitioner to deliver urgent and acute care services in a mobile, in-home setting. This is a travel-based role requiring the operation of a company vehicle to provide Acute care services. Extensive driving is required, and adherence to professional driving standards is expected. 

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care 

  • Obtain and document vital signs during all home visits. 

  • Work under supervision of licensed NP partner 

  • Starting IV’s, Lab draws and perform point-of-care testing. 

  • Maintain and clean all medical supplies and tools after each patient visit. 

  • Supply and stocking 

  • Preform EKG’s 

Mobile Care & Travel 

  • Drive throughout the Houston area in company-provided vehicles alongside a Nurse Practitioner. 

  • Deliver care in non-traditional, home-based environments with professionalism and adaptability. 

  • Adhere to mobile safety protocols and all company policies related to vehicle and equipment usage. 

  • Maintain readiness and organization of medical equipment and supplies while on the road. 

Qualifications 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), EMT, or Phlebotomy certification required. 

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required. 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical practice setting, preferably in acute care. 

  • Experience with EMR systems (Athena preferred). 

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history. 

  • Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and multitasking skills. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. 

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office operations, including Microsoft Office. 


Schedule:

  • Day Shift. Weekends required.
  • Mobile Healthcare open 7 days a week
  • Work Location: On the road (70% travel)
